There are notebooks all over my house. It’s not because I am obsessive compulsive (that statement may be disputed) and I do love making lists. They are Adam’s notebooks. The idea came to me when my Mom gave him some scrap paper and a pencil. He loved it and started to “draw” things he saw.
This has actually been a life saver in many situations because a notebook is so easy to carry around and one or two crayons is all you need. The notebook took on a new life of it’s own when Adam started to watch Blue’s Clues. Steve draws all the clues that Blue leaves and then sits in his thinking chair. Adam soon also started to play “cues clues” and having his own Blue stuffed animal made it more real in his mind.
At least once a day Adam picks up his notebooks and adds to them. It’s been a cheap and easy way to entertain him and it’s also a nice way to keep his drawings without having a huge mess around the house.
Today he was drawing Max and Ruby. Looks more like a dinosaur to me but I won’t tell him.
If you haven’t already give your toddler a notebook and crayon. You might be amazed at what they come up with.
